My name is kimberly harsh and the biggest crowd that i have ever been in would have to be the jonas brothers concert we had so much fun, we went out to eat before the concert started and got there just in time we hardley could get through to find us somewhere to stand and for us to talk to each other we had to scream at each other for us to hear, thats how loud it was. that concert was so good i loved it and didnt want it to end but after that i had the worse headache of my life but it soon went away. my little brother said that he didnt like it very much but of course he is a boy, and boys dont like the jonas brothers. but that was the biggest crowd that i have ever been in.

untitled poem- Mandyy Armour

I feel so lost in this world that doesn't want me
trapped in this thing they call life
And these wounds won't seem heal
i feel so hurt, so lost, so...... alone
I may look happy on the outside
but if you felt what i felt on the inside you would understand
I stare at the dark trying to learn, trying to figure out
why i feel this way

Feeling all alone,
like no one wants you around,
telling you that you can't come home.
Sometimes you make mistakes,
that no one will let you redo,
it makes you feel like they don't even care.
"Why won't she listen?"
"Why won't she give you another chance,
to redeem yourself from your horrible mistake?"
That's all that I can think about,
when I'm at school, at someones house.
Nothing can over pass it,
except...
Her voice, when she calls you,
telling you she is sorry,
and feels that I need to be able to tell
her what I really mean by what I said.
Her saying that she has forgiven me,
and then me knowing that everything will be okay,
once she hugs me and tells me she loves me.
My mom forgave me, and we are okay for now,
until...
I make another mistake,
or say something I don't really mean.
Then we are back where we started.

Cycle 8's Book Jacket; New Moon

"New Moon" Book Jacket by Lacy Reed

My group and I are finishing up New Moon. Most of my group members have already read it, but we like it so much we don't mind reading it again. New Moon is the sequel to Twilight. You know the vampire movies everyone is obsessing over. New Moon continues Edward Cullen and Bella Swan's story. In this book loquacious Bella becomes lugubrious Bella when Edward leaves her. He believes that she, a human and normal girl, doesn't belong in his messed up world. He feels that he is constantly keeping Bella in danger. She demands that she can't live without him, but he just disappears in seconds. This book is very very emotional. I cried constantly. There is break ups and Jacob, Bella's best friend, suddenly ditches her and acts churlish towards her. Is he trying to protect her from something or does he truly hate her. Bella ends up feeling split. Both Edward and Jacob have moiety of her. What is she to do. Read and find out it is amazing!!

History Behind Thanksgiving:)

The first thanksgiving is probably not what we think. Yes, it is true that Squanto and his fellow Native Americans helped the pilgrims grow crops and get sap from trees and survive the harsh winters of what become New England. But the very first feat that theses two peoples enjoyed was not called thanksgiving. Rather it was a celebration of the fall harvest, when vegetables were pulled from the ground and off stalks and made ready for a big meal. Pilgrims and Native Americans dined together at the dame tables ,yes, and they played games together and demonstrated their bow-and-arrow and musket shooting skill to each other. But they didn't call it thanksgiving until 1624.

Thanksgiving

During thanksgiving all my family gets together and have a big dinner then after we all get done eating we all sing karaoke and have a good time. after everybody gets to my house the house is full and a lot of kids screaming and running around. we have thanksgiving dinner around 1 or 2 in the afternoon. and we usually start cooking around 9 in the morning. we usually have ham, turkey, rolls, dressing, mashed potatoes, and corn, and green beans.

thanksgiving is one of the few days that we all get together and have fun. this is one of my favorite times of the year because we all get together and talk and spend the whole day together.

even though we have a lot of dishes after we all get done eating i still don't mind during them because we just put most of them in the dish washer, and wash the rest by hands.

and if people try to talk during thanksgiving day they pretty much has to scream because we are so loud. most people after they eat they usually take a nap and rest, but we do karaoke and have a good time.

Thanksgiving

For my Thanksgiving me, my mom, my dad, my mamaw, my aunt , my uncle, my aunt and my papaw get together and we cook and hang out all day and have a family day we do it like every holiday. But we have to get my papaw from a nursing home by Morehead and we have like a turkey, ham, macaroni and a lot more we. And after were all done eating we have a whole lot of random desserts then afterwords there is a lot of dishes to do because my mamaw cooks a lot for thanksgiving =). We all just usually clean up after and then sit around and talk to each other and see what we all been up to. But my aunt Steph and cuzin Destiny don't really talk especially my cousin Destiny she never talks to us and if we buy her stuff she don't say thanks or anything so like all besides her we sit around and catch up on whats up.

Tamaray Kurtzweg

Thanksgiving

Ohhh man! Where to start? Umm...okay. Well during Thanksgiving Break we clean. Bummer, I know. But on Thanksgiving the work pays off. We have a FEAST. My family has food rolling off the tables! Mashed potatoes, gravy, ham/turkey, corn, bread, sweet potato casserole, green beans, the list goes on! We stuff ourselves til it hurts to breathe! That's one of the reasons why Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. The other reason is when we are sitting around eating, we all share memories or stories. Let me tell you, my dad brings up the most hilarious moments of his childhood. For once, him and my uncle got into an argument. Well they were outside and my dad gets this "brilliant" idea. He decides to pee on my uncle's cat, Orangey. Well my uncle saw what he was doing so, he ran and pushed the cat out of the way. When he did my dad peed in his ear! It's hilarious when my dad describes him running as fast as his little legs would go, running inside the house behind my grandma, and her having to wash out my uncle's ear! Our family is always laughing at dinners! Anyways, when we are done eating we clear the table and do the dishes. After that, we chill for the day! ((:

Brianna's Journal, free-write poem.

A Black Night

Rain drops hit the ground,
The starry sky turns to grey,
As the moon fades in the clouds, the air gets colder.
Crisp leaves blow in the howling wind,
As they hit the trees one by one.

A black cat stirs the empty streets,
With intentions of chasing every mouse away.
Crunching every leaf with every quiet step.
Purring along with the wind,
Waiting on the next passing car.

The dark and spooky graveyard, filled with mystery,
Waiting on its next tenant,
Like a curious landlord.

An eager Vampire,
Awaiting its next victim,
To puncture its fangs,
Down deep in their flesh.

Early the next morning,
Dew on the spiky grass,
The sun shinning bright over the horizon,
The rooster crows at the crack of dawn.
It is a Beautiful day,
Until the Night.
Lacy's Journal, free-write poem.
Horses
The long flowing manes,
their hoof beats running across the plains.
With no where to go,
and no worries at all.
Stopping here,
eating there,
smelling for predators in the air.
Running and running as free as can be.
No rules, nobody telling them what to do.
Foals frolicking and playing,
with moms close by.
Never wandering far,
knowing predators have keen eyes.
When its bed time across the prairie
and all the foals lay down for a nap,
the muscular majestic stallion is their waiting their back.
You may call horses stinky animals,
but they do what most of us cannot.
They walk together and live as ONE.

my favorite childhood memory is when my mom had my little brother
even though we fight alot i still love him untill death
my mom says that we shouldnt be brothers and sisters because

dont know what i would do without him..
i was 6 years old when my mom had him and that was the

Dear Mr.Franz

Dear Mr. Franz

I think that we should get longer transition periods because some people have to come all the way from building 1 to building 4 and we don't have enough time to get there in five minutes. I think we should at least get ten minutes because that will give us enough time to use the restroom and take care of everything we need to with out being late. If you do this there will be no more tardies because we don't have a reason of being late, and we will not have to rush to get to class and not having time to go to our lockers, a lot of people have to carry all there books with them because they cant go to there lockers in five minutes especially if its on the other side of the school from where they are going. So we would appreciate if you will make the breaks longer them they are.

Boot Camp Bookjacket

My group has just finished reading the book Boot Camp. Boot Camp is about a boy who's parents get him sent off to a boot camp to become more obsequious. The camp was called Lake Harmony. Her they only get moiety of the meals. He makes two friends Pauly and Sarah. Sarah had been there for two and a half years. Pauly had been there for about three. Pauly gets a brilliant idea and inculcates Garrett to go along with it. Of course just like any other place there is drama and acumen boys. There is romance and abusive behavior but it is a wonderful book. All of us would recomend you to read it.

Mandy: Satin and lace

It is a choice, satin and lace
perfect poise, full of grace
Your face starts to flush?
what have i done to make you blush?
Lord, I beg of thee speak to me
Your face, from pink to pale
Arm in arm, your hand on the rail
Do you love me?
Do you want to be mine?
Yours I want to be, your kiss so fine
A satin gown, trimmed with lace so divine

Tamaray:
Country music is great...to a certain point. When it gets to the bluegrass, square-dancing music, it's not for me. Not only is country music easy to relate to, you can understand the lyrics as easy as 1-2-3. I listen to country music every night while I'm trying to go to sleep. When you get the soothing, relaxing, slow country songs, I'm out in a heart beat. The faster songs put you in a good mood. You can't help but put a smile on your face, especially while you're multitasking.

3rd Journal Spotlights

My name is Tamaray. I did have a time when I thought I was going to die. Here's how it goes.... My mom and dad took a "break", so my mom and us three kids moved to Jeffersonville. One day, my mom had to stop at a gas station before we went to go run errands. The gas station was on a steep hill. Then there was the road, then a creek in front of it (behind cars when they pulled in). Well, my mom put the car in park and had the car running since it was cold outside. My brother was about 5 years old. I was sitting in the front seat and my brother wanted to sit beside me, so he climbed the seat to get to the driver's seat. When he did, he hit the gear into reverse. We started going back. I was 10, I didn't know how to drive a car and I was freaking out. I opened the door and started screaming as loud as I could. It took me 3 times to scream for someone to finally hear me. My mom and this guy came running out. My mom stopped the car while the guy checked my leg and foot to see if they were alright because he saw I was trying to stop the car with my foot. My mom asked what happened and told me it was alright. I don't think I would ever want to relive that moment in my life. ((:

One of the things that I'm most terrified of is that when I'm outside and my neighbor is out there too is me being out there by my self because he already got caught molesting his step daughter and i don't feel comfortable out there by my self, and at night going to bed because my neighbor also tried to break into my house, so I'm just scared that one of these days he will be able to and nobody to know, and my moms ex boyfriend following my mom and still has the house key because he wont give it back, i keep telling my mom that she needs to have the locks changed because its not safe, when i go out side to mow and my mom isn't home i have my little brother or sister come out there and sit because its not safe for me to be out there by my self with him next door because who knows what he will do...

My name is Mandy Armour and the things that make me mad are the lying backstabbing 2faced people in this messed up world. All the drama, all the fights, all the arguing. There are so many things that shouldn't make me mad that do. Some people tell me i have a anger problem or I'm bipolar but i don't know about that. Another thing that makes me mad is when someone just out of the blue is mad at me or gets a attitude with me for no reason and I'm trying to figure out why but all they do is get mean and rude. I really don't like to be put in other peoples drama but yet i always am even if it don't deal with me. And that really ticks me off but i try and cope but my anger shows threw. My slogan is don't get mad get even.

Editoriall!(:

Dear Mr. Wilson,

My name is Brianna and i am writing this with Lacy, Kim, Mandy, and Tamaray.

We would like to express our opinion to you about books being challenged. We pick books every week for lit circle, if you all keep taking our books because of simple things such as, cursing or sexual content, that we see in basically every movie now, we will not have any books to choose from.

I think that in high school kids should be mature enough to read about these things, if they do talk about it, which they do, and if they see it in movies.

If Mrs. Mullins is worried that the content is too strong for us she will give us a parent slip to get signed, or tell us to ask them if they think we shouldn't read it. at that point she will let us choose another book to read, if we need to.

By challenging our books your take away reading time and possibilities, which is what you encourage us to do, how are we suppose to better our education when every book we have gets challenged? Think about it, when you were young would you have wanted such books challenged? We love these books they are so similar to our own lives sometimes, and they help people with situations sometimes, to better them selves.

Please think about what we have wrote to you, and stop challenging all our books. We hope you change your mind!

Thanks,
Brianna, Lacy, Kim, Tamaray, and Mandy.

Ex-Rating Bookjacket

In the book "Ex-Rating" it is nothing but high school drama. MAds, Holly, and Lina have a website where you can rate your "ex". After you rate them Holly will match them up with a single girl that is right for them. The three girls get hubris about this cause everyone loves there website. There principal Mr. Alvarado and the whole parents comittee did not like the infrastructure of it at all. All the teenagers in their class were very luquacious about the whole thing. Thier whole class had a huge epiphany over the whole ordeal. If you haven't read this book I greatly think you should.

2nd Journal Spotlights

My name is Mandy Armour and I'm going to tell you about what color i would be if i could be a color. The color i would be would be neon yellow because i love neon colors especially neon yellow because its my top favorite neon color. Its very noticeable, and its out there like its flamboyant, I could never get tired of neon yellow.

My name is Tamaray Kurtzweg. I would have to say that the most crowded place I've ever in is Mall of America. Man, every time I go there it seems to be more crowded. My family goes there when we visit our relatives. We bring a huge group of people and strollers with us! I mean when you have four floors fill with over four-hundred stores and an amusement park, who wouldn't want to be there. Plus, you have food courts so you can stay the whole day!

My name is Lacy Reed. I am going to tell you about a time I thought I was going to die....Jessica Shelley and me have been friends for about three years now. Well last year me and her went riding horses. It didn't turn out to good. I was riding a green broke horse that means that she was still learning how to stop and go and yeah all that stuff. So me and jess were riding along and on one of the trails there were two ropes you had to pick up to go under. Jessica was in front of me and as she went to pick up the ropes she dropped one and it had her trapped. See it caught on the the horn of her saddle and she couldn't get off. When she hollered at me for help i was going to get off to get her unstuck and my horse just jumped a good three feet for no reason!!! as she jumped the second rope was still dangling there in the air, so as she jumped the rope caught me by the neck and flipped me off backwards. i blacked out for about five minutes. I had a rope burn all the way across my neck. Jess and me were so sore we didn't go to school the next day. My mom always says im lucky to be alive because that could've easily decapitated me.

Our Letter to the Principal...

Dear Mr. Wilson,

My name is Brianna, and to voice our opinions to you, I also have Lacy, Kim, Tamaray, and Mandy. We would like to first say that we love the new changes, from the free zone in the cafeteria, to the breaks and hat days on Fridays. We know this is only a privilige that you can take away, just the same as you gave it to us. But we firmly believe, with out trying to jeopardize anything we have, we think that we could be abl eto us our phones at locker/bathroom breaks. also, during our breaks that we get for having a good attendence. It is just a privilige that we earned, on our own, but don't we have a say in how we get to use that time? Like I said, we do not want to jeopardize any of our priviliges we already reciee, but would just like to voice our opion to you, and you to consider our ideas. Thank you for your time!

Sincerely,
Brianna, Lacy, Kim, Tamaray, and Mandy

Book Jacket for Killing Britney

Britney was incognito... or was she? Her life is becoming more lugubrious because of her mom and Ricky's death, was it a coincidence or is there a killer on the loose? Did the diffident argument cause Ricky's death or was it the facetious Adam?

Journal Spotlights!!

My name is Brianna Stanhope, my most embarassing moment would be;
One Sunday at church, it was Easter Sunday, the one time i didn't check my skirt t happened. I walked all around the sanctuary, talking to everyone and then i walked up onto the poolpit to talk to my mother. My whole family was there, some of my moms friends from work, and you know my boyfriend just had to be there that day. After walking all around the church in front of everyone, I finally returned to my seat. The lady behind me pecked on my shoulder, and said to me "hun, your skirt is stuck in the top of your panties."
I was stunned, astonished, and totally embarassed. I can't belive this had happen to me, again at that. And to beat it all, i was wearing a short dress, so I had to stand up to fix it, so everyone seen me fix it too!

My name is Kimberly Harsh and i believe the most embarassing moment would be, when i was at work and just got done taking a order and i walked over by the fries station and slipped on some grease and fell right on my butt.i was so embarassed because there was costumers in the lobby and they started laughing, when i saw that there was people in the lobby that i knew my face got so red, and i could not even look them in the face, when i got back up everybody started asking me if i was ok and i said yes but i was still embarassed that i couldnt keep from laughing at myself.

My name is Lacy Reed i am going to tell you about my most embrassing moment ever! Well i am on the 4-H drill team you see and that is where you and your horse and do drills like they would in the civil war only we aren't fighting people. Well anyway i was going to practice one day with my best friend Becky McCoy. She was our captain this year and we won state and nationals woooo!!! When we got to practice my horse Misty was acting mad and aggravating all ready. When we started practicing and learning our new drill, Misty went balistic. She wouldn't go in a straight line for anything. Every horse that passed she tried to bite and kick. Becky's horse passed in front of me because we were doing figure eights and Misty stopped and and did a complete 360 over and over again. It was insane. Most of you proabaly think well this isn't embarassing at all well in the "horse" world your horse reflects on how good of a trainer you are and how much you bond with your horse. So this day Misty made me look bad, but thats ok i love her anyway:)
